Marti report
So I've had a bit of time to get this "feel" of this particular vehicle. If you are looking for your "forever" car might I suggest you consider this one. I have decided to completely redo the car so it is currently being taken apart and will be documented regarding any issues as we strip and paint it and refresh many of the components. What I've discovered driving the car a bit is that it is very smooth, has no rattles or nasty "gotta fix" issues. In fact, while I cannot guarantee the milege as correct for the indicated 48,500 showing...I will say it drives like that is actual. The car is very tight and comes with none of the noises, steering, leaks and other problems that higher mileage Jet cars often have. I have also been pleasantly surprised that even though it is a 428 Jet car...which typically run hot in Texas...this one seldom gets past the mid mark termperature wise and will idle in traffic without complaint...and it has been VERY hot in Texas since this little guy got here.
The floors are original and have no rust. Being a Canadian sold car it was undercoated and that continues to be in good condition. I believe the car has had lower quarter replacement and some repair to the passenger door. As we strip and repaint we will know more of the extent (if any) of repairs in these areas.
These are the things that will be replaced or repaired / detailed with the rework:
100% new candy apple red T5 spec paint.
New blackout hood, chin spoiler and rear spoiler repaints to correct color and texture.
All new weatherstrip.
New dash.
New door panels.
New headliner.
New sail panels.
Refurbrish all interior panels.
New Mach 1 stripe kit.
New Magnum 500 Wheels - or if you prefer the original dished wheels of the photos, you can stay with those.
New defroster motor
Replaced rear main seal.
Replaced main bearing throughout
Rebuilt carb (correct carb)
Detail engine bay to original delivery stds
New tires
Detail trunk area with space saver spare, inflation canister, jack
Detail interior
New regulator
Clean/flush original radiator
New water pump
Reseal engine
Clean and polish original bumpers
New door handles
New interior door panels/handles
Rebuild rear fold down seat with new carpet
On many restorations I replace the wiring, but this one's wiring is largely original, unmolested and functional so my plan is ot leave it as is.
Tires and wheels new and in excellent condition - original 14 inch
All correct smog system
Correct carb
New clutch
Engine bay just detailed
Engine fully resealed - head gaskets, intake gaskets, carb gasket
No oil leaks
Original Ford radiator
Original/correct steering wheel
Tach option

This is a documented number matching engine and tranny with a correct date code rear end...so again, if you are looking for an unquestionable collector grade car and number match and documentation are issues for you...this is a car worthy of consideration. I expect it will be fully finished in mid January complete with new paint and all the other components outlined above.
